YMCA Glenrothes seeks two new voluntary Board Trustees with a genuine interest in change, for its dynamic work with young, homeless and disadvantaged groups.

With 25 staff, 20 volunteers and an annual budget of around £850,000, this charity plays a vital role in assisting the young, homeless and other disadvantaged groups within Glenrothes and Fife.

You should have some time to spare (averaging 0.75 day per month to include training time), an experience of working in the public, private, or voluntary sectors, and a genuine interest in helping youth and the wider community, particularly those who are disadvantaged. You should be interested in advising the charity to implement its three year plan. This includes the purchase and upgrade of properties using secured grants, work within the Public Social Housing Partnership for Fife and a new youth and community programme which is linked to health and wellbeing.

The YMCA Glenrothes supports 57 homeless people each night in staffed hostels and supported flats and provides learning and development programmes for young people, families and adults.

It is desirable but not essential that Board Trustees have an interest in Christianity. Past involvement with the voluntary sector would be advantageous, but not essential. Non-executive Board Trustees do not receive any remuneration but are eligible for expenses.
